A young girl stands near the edge of this sandstone cliff at Muley Point in the 1.3 million acre Bears Ears National Monument. Spectacular views of the canyon, the San Juan River, Monument Valley and Navajo Monument can all be seen from the point. The monument has been the home and sacred site to several Native American tribes through time with more than 100,000 documented archaeological sites within the monument's boundaries. The Clovis People were the first to inhabit the area nearly 14,000 years ago.
